About Deleting Alternating PDF Pages
Why Delete Every Other Page?
When scanning papers using automatic document feeders (ADFs), configuration issues can lead to unwanted blank pages or duplicate sides. For instance, if a stack of single-sided sheets is scanned on a double-sided scanner, every second page will be blank. Instead of manually clicking and deleting dozens of pages individually, this tool allows you to remove all odd or all even pages instantly.
Understanding Odd vs. Even Pages
Page numbers follow natural 1-based ordering. Page 1 (index 0) is odd, Page 2 (index 1) is even, Page 3 (index 2) is odd, and so on. If you choose "Delete Odd Pages", only even pages (2, 4, 6, ...) will remain in the output document. Conversely, choosing "Delete Even Pages" retains only odd pages (1, 3, 5, ...).
Secure and Fast Browser Execution
Like all Quasar Tools, pages are processed locally using your device's RAM. We never transmit your files to external cloud hosts, ensuring absolute security for sensitive corporate documents, contracts, and personal records.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The page extraction process uses standard vector copying streams via pdf-lib. This preserves 100% of text formatting, image resolutions, vectors, fonts, and hyperlinks in the kept pages.
Yes. The tool features a real-time kept/deleted page preview that updates dynamically based on your loaded PDF's total page count and the selected mode.
Because the tool runs entirely in your local browser memory, there are no artificial upload limits. However, processing exceptionally large files (e.g. over 500MB) depends on your browser's memory availability.
The structural page copying preserves annotations and page content. If you have an internal table of contents bookmark linking to a deleted page, the link will point to a missing page, but the rest of the bookmarks will function normally.
No. Quasar Tools does not use backend servers for page manipulation. Your PDF is loaded, modified, and saved entirely in your local browser sandbox.
The tool handles odd and even page totals correctly. For example, a 7-page PDF processed in "Delete Odd Pages" mode will retain pages 2, 4, and 6 — three pages. No error is thrown as long as at least one page is kept in the result.
Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked before processing. If your PDF is encrypted, please remove the password protection first using a PDF unlock tool, then upload it here for page deletion.
